Casey Phillips: tenor banjo, fiddle. The only non-native Chattanoogan in Pay the Reckoning, Casey is an entertainment journalist formerly from the great white north (Knoxville, Tenn.). He began studying the classical viola at age 9. At 15, he simultaneously discovered plectrum instruments and traditional Irish music, both of which he became enamored with. He began performing with his local session in Knoxville shortly thereafter. In the intervening years, he has performed in sessions around the country and internationally, including in Nashville, Albuquerque, New York City, Ennis, Co. Clare, Ire., and Mannheim, Germany, He is now a regular participant in the Chattanooga session. He is a video game fanatic, movie junkie, avid reader and all-around geek extraordinaire. Also, he really likes jogging, cooking and puppies, but not at the same time.
